Quartz Bangers for Better Dabs

The banger, also called a dab nail or dab banger, is the part of your rig you heat up and drop your concentrate into. It has more effect on flavour than almost anything else in your setup, which makes it one of the best upgrades you can buy. We carry quartz bangers from Gear Premium, Red Eye Glass, iRie Quartz, Cheech & Chong and more, all shipped discreetly across Canada.

Why Quartz?

Quartz heats evenly, handles high temperatures and doesn’t add any taste to your dab. That’s why it’s the standard for dab nails. Here’s how it compares to the other options:

  • Quartz: clean flavour and steady heat. The best all-round choice.
  • Glass: cheaper, but regular glass isn’t built for direct torch heat and can crack.
  • Titanium: heats fast and is almost impossible to break, but most people find quartz gives better flavour.
  • Ceramic: holds heat for a long time, but takes longer to heat up.

Types of Quartz Bangers

Standard Bangers

A classic flat-top banger is simple, affordable and works with most carb caps. If you’re new to dabbing, this is the place to start.

Terp Slurpers

A terp slurper has a slotted dish that pulls vapour down through the banger, plus marbles or pills that spin when you inhale. The result is even heating and some of the smoothest, most flavourful dabs you can get. Slurpers need their own caps and pearls, so look for a set.

Thermal and XL Bangers

Thermal bangers have a double-wall design that holds heat longer, giving you a wider window to drop your dab. XL bangers have a bigger bucket for larger dabs and more room for terp pearls.

Thick-Bottom and Opaque-Bottom Bangers

A thicker or opaque bottom holds heat longer and cools more slowly, so your temperature stays steady from the first pull to the last.

Domeless Nails

Domeless nails sit right in your rig’s joint without a dome. Pair one with a carb cap for the best results.

E-Bangers for Enails

E-bangers are built to fit inside an enail coil. If you use an enail, check the coil size, usually 16mm or 20mm, before you buy.

How to Pick the Right Banger

  • Joint size: match your rig, usually 10mm, 14mm or 19mm.
  • Male or female: a female joint on your rig takes a male banger, and a male joint takes a female banger.
  • Angle: if your rig’s joint sticks straight out to the side, go with a 90 degree banger. If it’s angled up, choose 45 degrees. Either way, the bucket should sit level.
  • Bucket size: a wider bucket fits bigger dabs and more pearls, but make sure your carb cap fits.

Caring for Your Quartz Banger

A clean banger tastes better and lasts longer:

  • Season it first. Heat a new banger and let it cool once or twice before your first dab.
  • Don’t overheat it. Running it too hot is the main reason quartz turns black or cloudy.
  • Swab after every dab. Wipe the bucket with a cotton swab while it’s warm, not hot, to clear leftover oil.
  • Deep clean as needed. Soak it in isopropyl alcohol and salt to break down stubborn build-up.

Complete Your Setup

Add terp pearls for even heating, a reliable dab torch and a reclaim catcher to keep your rig clean. Browse everything else in dab rig parts, or find a new rig in our dab rigs collection.
