The bowl is the part of your bong you touch every session, so it’s worth getting one you like. Depending on who you ask, it’s called a bowl piece, a slide, a pull-out, a cone or a head. They all mean the same thing: the piece that holds your flower and slides into your bong.
We carry glass bong bowls in 9mm, 12mm, 14mm and 19mm. You’ll find simple cone bowls for a few bucks and art pieces you’ll want to show off.
Joint size is the first thing to check, because a bowl that doesn’t fit is useless. Here’s how the sizes break down.
14mm is the most common size by far. Most bongs, bubblers and downstems take a 14mm bowl, so if you’re not sure, start here. It’s also where you’ll find most of our selection.
19mm bowls fit bigger bongs with a wider joint. You’ll often see 19mm listed as 18mm, but it’s the same size. A few of our bowls are marked 14mm and 19mm and fit either.
9mm and 12mm bowls are for smaller bongs and older style downstems. Many of them are push bowls, which slide straight into the downstem without a ground glass joint. Check what your downstem takes before you order.
If your bong takes one size and you love a bowl in another, a bong adapter bridges the gap. A 19mm to 14mm interchanger, for example, lets a 19mm bong take any 14mm bowl.
The cone is the classic bowl piece. Its tapered shape holds a small to medium pack, burns evenly and clears in one good pull. It’s hard to beat for solo sessions.
Barrel bowls have straighter sides and hold more flower than a cone, so they work well for sharing. The XL bowls go even bigger if you’re packing for a group.
A handle makes it easier to pull the bowl out to clear the bong, especially when the glass is warm. We carry donut, disc, diamond and leaf stamped handles.
Some bowls are just fun to own. Red Eye Glass makes mushroom, tentacle, rose and flower bowls that look as good on the shelf as they do on your bong. They all work exactly like a standard bowl.
Red Eye Glass has been making glass in Vancouver since 2003, and makes up most of our bowl selection, from basic cones to art bowls. Red Eye Tek bowls come in the Terminator finish to match your Tek bong. Gear Premium makes thick, simple bowls like the Thumper Cone and XL Blaster Cone.
You can pick up a basic glass bowl piece for under $10. Most of our 14mm bowls sit between $10 and $20. Art bowls and premium Red Eye Tek pieces run higher. If your bowl keeps breaking, a thicker one with a handle is worth the few extra dollars.
Bowls are the most likely part of a bong to break, so it’s smart to keep a spare around. When you replace one, match the joint size, and check that the bowl sits snug without wobbling. A loose fit leaks air and kills your pull.
Keep your bowl clean too. Resin buildup clogs the hole and makes it hard to pull through. A quick soak in a bong cleaner has it running like new.
Add an ash catcher under your bowl to keep your bong water cleaner, or browse the rest of our bong parts. Looking for a hand pipe instead? Check out our weed pipes. Every order ships discreetly from our Vancouver warehouse.
